The Plateau rivals – staging their version of the Battle of the Bridge – squared off the evening of Sept. 11 at the Enumclaw Expo Center.
The 3-2 verdict in favor of the Buckley crew improved White River’s record to a perfect 3-0 on the season. By contrast, Enumclaw fell to 0-2.
The early part of the contest proved exciting as Robbins opened the scoring with a goal at the seven-minute mark. That, however, was answered just a minute later by Enumclaw’s Sawyer Anderson who tallied an unassisted goal of her own.
It was a back-and-forth battle for the remainder of the half and into the second period. Robbins’ second goal came in the 55th minute but Enumclaw knotted the score when Mia Ammons found the back of the net at 63 minutes.
