Twilight Invitational (girls only), Cedarcrest Golf Course, Marysville, WA (5k)

Meet Highlights:
• The conditions for the 12th Annual Nike Twilight Invitational were much better than our last two outings at this location. The rain held off for the most part. The course was in good shape and generally fast. The later races were contested after sunset with various industrial and decorative lighting, adding to the festive atmosphere of the contest. After the final serious race was concluded, the athletes joined together for the traditional costume run. This year the Lady Hornets magically transformed into a small herd of mythic unicorns adorned with LED lighting and glow in the dark accessories.
• On the competitive side, The Hornets did an outstanding job mixing it up on the field of competition after a tough week of training without a dual meet on our schedule. Five of our seven varsity girls posted season best 5k marks on this challenging course that mimics the Sun Willows state championship venue in many ways. Overall, the evening was a great effort on the part of the Hornets!
• With the majority of our invitational travel completed, the team is now turning toward sharpening our fitness and race sense for post-season competition beginning in just a few weeks time.
