Last night at the 4A Swimming and Diving District Championships at Curtis High School, Enumclaw High School made an impressive start to the meet. Ben Hauswirth won the meet with a new school record (breaking his own) 411.20. Ricky Bonthuis, a freshman also scored a personal best 358.35 placing fifth in a very tough field of divers. Top 7 go to State Championships and Ricky was 5th! Both guys stayed steady despite a high pressure meet. They both had their hardest dive last and the places all came down to the last dive. Both nailed the last dive, Ben scoring 7.5's and 8's, Ricky scoring 6 and 6.5's moving them up in the standings to 1st and 5th respectively. All are extremely proud of these two fine young athletes!! ON TO STATE!! Go Hornets!!
