<span class="Bodycopy">Julius Denton is one of the legendary athletes in Shelbyville history.</span><br />
<br />
<span class="Bodycopy">On Thursday, Daniel Kuhn erased Denton's name from the track and field record board. Kuhn won the 400 meters in 48.67 seconds to become the first Golden Bear to break 49 seconds in the event. Denton's record of 49.1 was set in 1985.</span><br />
<br />
<span class="Bodycopy">Kuhn also finished second in the long jump after soaring 21 feet, five inches.</span><br />
<br />
<span class="Bodycopy">Columbus East defeated Shelbyville 82-50 in a dual track meet.</span><br />

<span class="Bodycopy">Also winning events for Shelbyville were DeShaun French in the 110 hurdles (14.6) and Alton Anspaugh in the 1,600 (4:41.28) and 3,200 (10:43.78).</span><br />
<br />
<span class="Bodycopy">The Golden Bears also won the 400 relay and the 3,200 relay.</span><br />
<br />
<span class="Bodycopy">Shelbyville won the girls meet, 76-56.</span><br />
<br />
<span class="Bodycopy">The Golden Bears won nine events, including all three relays.</span><br />
<br />
<span class="Bodycopy">Individuals winning events were Sydney Posz (100 hurdles), Danielle Lubbe (1,600), Alexa Davis (400), Blayre Scott (800), Alexis Tackett (long jump) and Erin Diemer (pole vault).</span><br />
<br />
<span class="Bodycopy">Tackett and Diemer teamed with Mikayla Diemer and Ashley Bailey to win the 400 relay.</span><br />
<br />
<span class="Bodycopy">Lubbe, Scott, Gladys Chavez and Alex Lubbe won the 3,200 relay.</span><br />
<br />
<span class="Bodycopy">And in the 1,600 relay, Tackett, Chavez, Davis and Scott finished first.</span></div>
