EHS Athletics Introduces New Girls Basketball Coach

On behalf of the Enumclaw High School Athletic Department we are excited to announce that Ted Carlson has been hired as our new Head Girl’s Basketball Coach for the 2016-2017 season. Coach Carlson has a long history of success coaching girls basketball. He spent five years from 1993-1998 building a State power at Federal Way H.S. that included a State Championship in 1997 and a top 25 ranking in the U.S.A Today. In 1998, Coach Carlson brought his experience and talents to Enumclaw and coached the Hornet girls for nine years. In that span the Hornets accumulated 50+ straight League wins in the 4A SPSL, they competed and placed in numerous State Tournaments, and won a number of League Championships. Along the way he was honored with multiple Coach of the Year awards and twice was selected to Coach in the Washington/Oregon All State Game. For Coach Carlson all of these awards pale in comparison to the relationships he was able to develop with players and coaches over the years.

Eventually Coach Carlson stepped away from coaching in order to follow his son Tyler and daughter Katie in their own athletic endeavors. Both Katie and Tyler have since graduated and he is thrilled for the opportunity to step back into coaching. Coach is supported by his wife Jill, his children, and a long list of former coaches and players. In addition to coaching the girls basketball team Coach Carlson teaches PE and Health at E.H.S. and is an assistant Girls Tennis Coach.
