EHS XC Meet Results 2016

Seaside Invitational, Camp Rilea, Warrenton, OR

Sept. 17th, Wind & Rain, 61 Degrees

Meet Highlights:

  • The Hornet Boys team finished 4th among the similar sized schools in the Division 2 classification while competing at the Seaside Invitational Three Course Challenge. Teams in this event traveled from Oregon, Washington, California and several other Western States.

  • For those unfamiliar with this top-tier regional cross country meet, it is contested on the grounds of the Camp Rilea Military Base in Warrenton, OR. Athletes race over one of three courses varying in length and difficulty level. Those racing the more rigorous courses must contend with steep and sandy hills that many would find difficult to walk up. The event also features a mud pit…and this year it was waist deep for many of the competitors.

  • Additionally, the “Divisions” are meant to allow comparison of athletes from across state lines, as state high school athletic associations break down school classification in various ways.

  • Leading the way for the boys was Alec Ritter, who placed 5th overall on the moderate course. This was an outstanding run that was good enough to vault Alec into 1st place and a Division 2 Individual Championship.

  • Hunter Storm ended the weekend 6th overall and 2nd in Division 2 on the Hard Course.

  • Other top Female finishers were: Payton Roberson, 10th on the Hard Course and Anna Bursch, 10th on the Moderate Course.

  • On the Boys side, Tim McCann placed 9th on the Easy Course and Sam Lingwall placed 7th on the Hard Course.
